Crane Supervisor

The crane supervisor is the key individual in any lifting operation. Every lift requires a supervisor who will ensure safety, accuracy and efficiency throughout the operation. He needs to be familiar with crane tasks, have good judgement and can spot possible hazards.

If you are looking to take responsibility for the supervision of lifting operations, including overseeing slinging and signalling as well as the implementing of the lift plan, then you may need crane supervisor training.

The crane supervisor must ensure that the plan is followed carefully and that each member of the lift team (slinger, signaller, crane operator, plant drivers, engineers, etc) carry out their respective duties correctly.

There is a CPCS Crane Supervisor qualification available. To those who have lifting and slinging experience, the training is conducted over three days and includes classroom as well as practical exercises involving a lorry-mounted crane. The fourth day is devoted to the CPCS practical and theoretical assessments.
