Which new truck is ahead in the market?

Interesting statistics have been released in the sale of new trucks. The Transport operator news states the UK’s truck market fell by over 4% in 2018. Rigid trucks fell sharply driving the rigid sector down by 6.7%, although there was some growth in the rigid market for tippers, flat beds and skip-loaders. The market leader DAF have taken much of the pain with a fall in numbers of almost 12%. Mercedes maintain 2nd place selling 7,223 trucks and Scania in third selling 6,877 trucks with its now complete new truck range. Volvo improved a modest growth but the big news comes from MAN which has put its past mechanical woes behind them. So for 2018 the market share is as follows. 1st DAF with 27.2% share, 2nd Mercedes with 16.8% share, 3rd Scania having 16%, Volvo with 13.9%, 5th is now MAN with 8.8%followed by Iveco, Renault, Isuzu, Denis Eagle, Fuso and others.
