See what some of our apprentices think about their experience with us!

Shinead, LGV Apprentice (2022)

“I have really enjoyed my apprenticeship so far, I have gained a lot of knowledge from the masterclass lessons and I also enjoyed METAL, working hard to achieve my maths functional skills level 2. I have just achieved the PEDAL part of my course with the driver training instructor Nik. Nik was really supportive, in fact everyone has been and I have managed to achieve my C+E license, I cannot wait to navigate the challenging roads of Devon next!”

“I started off my apprenticeship with just my car licence. Within the apprenticeship I gained my Cat C and C+E lorry licence and also functional skills qualifications in English & Maths. The apprenticeship really helped me within my career and I have even gone on to gain Plant Machinery qualifications. The LGV apprenticeship with Trans Plant Mastertrain is  so much more than just a lorry licence”
Kayleigh, LGV Apprentice (2021)

My experience as an apprentice so far has been really wonderful, from my employer to transplant everyone has been really helpful and willing to teach me as much as possible. I have spent most of my working time on the road with other drivers shadowing, on the debrief desk and some planning. Working on the debrief desk and planning has been a great help for me in learning how the transport office works and what I will be expected to do as a driver soon. Debriefing has taught me how timesheets, run sheets, defects, and many more things are handled during the day, and on planning I have learnt how runs are allocated, what happens when a driver has an issue on the road and a few more things with a lot more to learn still. This learning process has been great as it now sets me up to work in other roles within the transport logistics industry.

“I started my journey at Trans Plant Mastertrain as an apprentice on the Business Admin Level 2 course. On completion of this I then progressed on to the level 3 qualification. During my time on these courses I developed a wealth of knowledge which have helped me get to where I am today managing the Accounts. If anyone was considering an apprenticeship I would say just go for it, they really do set you up for life.”
